Once again the Volunteers at The Red Hill Fire Company wish to thank the community in which we protect, as well as the surrounding fire companies that came out and participated in this years open house / fire prevention. Without your continued support we would not be the company that we have become!
The events of the night kicked off around 7:00pm with a demonstration of a tanker relay. The relay ran from a hydrant to around the block and back to a dump site located off the back entrance of our station on East 5th Street. That is where we had a porta-pond set up which fed Squirt 71 that was flowing the boom across our back field. A BIG Thanks to Berks Co. Tanker 58 (Hereford) Montco Tanker 42 (Green Lane) & Montco Tanker 72 (Tylersport) in your assistance with this evolution.
At the conclusion of the Relay it was time for the Vehicle Rescue demonstration which was completed by the Crews from Squad 65 & Tower 65 (Pennsburg) which demonstrated different techniques in extricating a victim.
Next up, Crews from Station 71 setup a LZ in the back field to land Mid-Atlantic 3.
After about a half hour Q&A session with the pilot and crew from the helicopter. It was time for our final event of the night which was a staged vehicle fire in our upper lot. The fire was lit off by Chief 71 (S. Alderfer) and Bucks Tanker 58 (Trumbauersville) was dispatched to the Scene and placed the fire under control.
Once again the Members of Station 71 want to thank everyone for their continued support and we look forward to seeing all of you next year!!!
