The Members of The Red Hill Fire Company are asking for the public's assistance.
One of our own was recently diagnosed with Leukemia and is in need of a bone marrow transplant. The test is easy, painless and quick. If you can find time the weekend of January 17th, even if you don't know Gary personally please come down to the Red Hill Fire Company and help out a real good guy! Gary has always been the first guy in line to help out those in need, and this is just a small way that we can help out a brother of ours. So please show your support in the "Be the Match" campaign and we will see you all Saturday January 17th between 11:00 and 3:00!!!
On October 16th, Gary was diagnosed with AML (Acute Myloid Leukemia). He was immediately admitted to the University of Pennsylvania, where he underwent aggressive chemotherapy – 35 days later he was finally able to come home. He is currently undergoing his second round of treatment, but ultimately needs a bone marrow transplant to have a successful remission.
Many of you may know him for his service as Fire Police with the Red Hill Fire Department, an active member of the North Penn Goodwill Canteen Services, and serving on the Red Hill Borough Planning Commission, among other community involvement.
WE NEED YOUR HELP!! On January 17th, 2015 we will be hosting a Be The Match Bone Marrow Drive at the Red Hill Fire Company Social Hall from 11am-3pm. Donors must be between the ages of 18-44 with generally good health!
It's a one a million shot that we will find a match for him - but someone out there is OUR one in a million and maybe that is YOU! The test is a simple, painless cheek swab - that's it!!
During our event we will be serving hot dogs, soda and chips for donation, all of which goes directly to the Be the Match Foundation.
