At 12:17 hours Squirt 71 was dispatched on the 1st alarm assignment to assist station 42 (Green Lane) on a dwelling fire. Units due were 42, Squirt 71, Squad and Tower 65 (Pennsburg), Engine and Tanker 87 (Upper Frederick). Prior to units responding, Marlborough Police reported a working fire.
Chief 42 arrived and confirmed a working fire and requested the Northern Montgomery County Northern tanker task force and special called additional tankers. Squirt and Assistant 71 responded with a crew of 8, arrived and went to work with fire suppression. The Squirt being fed by tankers supplied Tower 65 in front of the structure.
Crews operated for nearly 3 hours after being evacuated due to rapidly deteriorating conditions in the dwelling.
